I came across a recent article in basecamp about meetings and its impact on the software development process. Too many meetings are a curse to a company. Accept or not, developers need somewhat uninterrupted time for the coding. It is a highly creative task. When a developer is often disturbed by meetings and status updates, it will affect productivity. There are some companies now adopting meeting-less working days. It is a good practice. There should be certain criteria for conducting meetings.
)It should be absolutely necessary
)Agenda should be planned
)The timeline should be followed
)Only necessary members should be invited to the meeting
)Minutes should be shared by organizer and evaluate whether the meeting is useful
